Electric Harvest

Electric Harvest is a six layer screen print that depicts a futuristic facility which has devised a method to harvest electricity emitted from the Electrophorus electricus eels. This work initiates a conversation concerning energy extraction practices: moving forward to less harmful sources of energy, what is deemed ethical? How does this standard differ from the terms of sustainability? The work suggests that because of our relationship to the natural world, discovery is sadly often coupled with exploitation.
