Terrestrial Simulacra

Terrestrial Simulacra is a collaborative exhibition by Abbey Franklin & Seanna Harris. TS aims to restore connection to traditional practices concerning human consumtion, while influence habits that cultivate a well-rounded relationship with the medium. Practices in textiles, paper-making, food-waste dying, and printed media converge to investigate and challege current conventions of American consumption by highlighting the paradoxes as well as finding ways to carve out more sustainable practices for the prospective years to come. Both artists aspire to engage viewers in the conversation of addressing how humans are implicated in their global environments. Terrestrial Simulacra invites viewers to examine their own hand in these issues as well as their personal realm of influence.
